Item Description
6x8" vintage glossy photo depicting Ray Bevans dressed in full uniform posed in front of residential homes in Philadelphia, PA. Photographer's stamp on back reads "Wide World Photo" along with a date stamp of June 17, 1926. Ray Bevans was a college standout as a two-way ballplayer, pitcher and outfielder, despite being handicapped, possessing only one arm to play with after losing one arm at the shoulder as a child. Bevans finished among the team's batting leaders in 1926, helping Loyola excel against local college competition such as Villanova University. There are no significant condition issues to note, paper caption has become detached from back of photo but is included. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
