Item Description
8x10" vintage matte photo depicting 23 ballplayers in full uniform along with two batboys posed in front of stadium seating. Caption at top of photo reads "1950 Rochester Red Wings". Bottom of photo contains identifications of all individuals pictured based on their locations in the image. The 1950 Rochester Red Wings were a member of the Class AA International League and were winners of the league championship with a record of 92-59 under manager Johnny Keane. An astounding total of 20 ballplayers from this team would go on to play Major League baseball, with the most notable being: Steve Bilko, Dick Cole, Tom Poholsky and Hal Rice. Image clarity of the photo is excellent, there are no significant condition issues to note. NM. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
