Item Description
Big 2.25" with tin back stamped by maker St. Louis Button Co. plus 1.75" vertical stickpin. Partially tinted photo to promote c. 1905 appearance with text as if the ostrich is speaking "Meet Me At Oklahoma Races Aug. 24-29/I Will Race Every Day." Black Diamond and his owner traveled to baseball parks and county fairs where the ostrich would race (and win) against horses. A few tiny and faint gray dots on the white rim. High gloss and Exc. We've seen two in our 54 years and suspect this is the one we offered decades ago. Alan Weinberg Collection.
