Item Description
Large 3" re-designed version of previous button produced after becoming "1929 Champions". Curl names maker Adcraft Mfg. Co., Chicago. Sepia tone showing Owner - "Wrigley" plus 20 other head shots, all identified by last name. Images include five National Basebasll Hall of Famers: Hack Wilson, Rogers Hornsby, Joe McCarthy, Kiki Cuyler and Gabby Hartnett. Text around images on this one reads "Souvenir Chicago Cubs 1929 Champions." The 1929 Chicago Cubs won the National League pennant with a final record of 98-54 under manager Joe McCarthy. The Cubs would go on to lose the 1929 World Series to the Philadelphia Athletics, 4 games to 1. Metal back has moderate aging. Front at lower left, left of McMillan photo, is a .25" deep hairline scratch which can be left but which shows very little.
