Item Description
2.25", no maker. spring pin holding two lightly aged ribbons, a tarnished brass chain, a catalin plastic bat and a celluloid baseball. Issued prior to the 1942 World Series. The 1942 St. Louis Cardinals won the National League pennant with a record of 106-48 under future National Baseball hall of Fame manager Billy Southworth. The offense was led by a pair of young outfielders who would go on to long HOF careers, Stan "The Man" Musial and Enos Slaughter. The Cardinals would go on to win the 1942 World Series against the New York Yankees in five games. Short fabric loop holding the chain is worn but intact. Attachments are Fine.
