Item Description
3.5" tall no maker and w/blank back paper. Mint luster metal walking bear which has reverse bar pin plus a pair of long brass tabs suspending a purple ribbon held to a 2-1/8" button by the button's spring pin. Small portrait photo at center, text reads "Welcome To/Feb. 16 1938/Johnny Neun Bears' Manager." Neun played six seasons in the Major Leagues for Boston and Detroit before embarking on an extensive minor league career, where he would ultimately land with the highly successful Newark Bears, minor league club of the New York Yankees, during the late 1930s and early 1940s as a manager.
