Item Description
Like the previous lot, 1.25" version, this large 3.5" button has no maker name. It is also the only example known to Hake's. Back has about 50% silver luster. To the right of his face, apparently excess heat in the lamination process caused a vertical streak to form on the celluloid surface. This is 2.25" long varying from a mere hairline to a mark generally 1/16" wide but at its worst 1/8". In addition, there is a similar melt-like mark over the R of his last name, Also, but barely seen, are three tiny specks of dirt under the cello with two on the background white circular area at upper left and one next to his cheek on the right.  Design is well centered, other surface wear is minimal and, aside from the damaged area, the gloss is strong. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
