Item Description
7.75x10" vintage photo shows Jimmie Foxx (1907-1967), who played 20 seasons in MLB for the Philadelphia Athletics (1925-1935), Boston Red Sox (1936-1942), Chicago Cubs (1942, 1944) and Philadelphia Phillies (1945). He was a three-time AL MVP, 1933 Triple Crown winner, nine-time All-Star and two-time World Series champ. Nicknamed "Double X" and "The Beast," he is pictured here in an Athletics uniform. Foxx was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1951. Photo has been inscribed/signed in black ink, Foxx writing "With Sincere Best Wishes To Charlie Smith, A Real Friend. 'Jimmie' Foxx." Photo shows moderate handling wear w/all over rippling and left and lower right margins have some notable edge wear w/archival tape repairs on back to corner tips. Thin strip of tape on back at upper right margin. Vertical crease across Foxx's face, but this is only noticeable in reflected light. Inscription blends somewhat but signature remains totally legible. VG/Fine overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA. Chuck Bruce HOF Collection.
