Item Description
Pair of 15x20" Millar Publishing artboards features pen and ink original art by Dennis Ellefson for complete two-page story published in DRAG Cartoons #9 in 1964. Temple McFlathead story deals w/banged up recurring gearhead character cautiously approaching flattop engine, wondering if the temperamental engine has forgiven him. Upon starting, the engine bounces away from him down the street. Of note, first panel features detailed caricature of Ringo Starr, giving his approval of "Flatties."Ellefson has signed at bottom of this panel. Bottom of each artboard has "DRAG #9" and page number repeated in black felt tip pen w/"R59" blue ink notation between them. First artboard has some aging at upper right corner margin, but o/w art remains clean and Exc. From the Archives of Publisher Pete Millar.
