Item Description
6x9.5" handwritten letter (ALS) on The Brunswick Boston, MA hotel stationery is dated April 26, 1921 and is addressed to a Mr. Frank Hosey of Philadelphia regarding a misplaced pass. Letter has been written by Connie Mack (1862-1956), who played in the MLB from 1886-1896 before going on to an extremely successful career as a manager w/the Philadelphia Athletics (1901-1950), where he accrued the most managerial wins, losses and games managed in MLB history, including five World Series wins. Mack was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1937. Letter mentions Shibe Park, which would later be renamed Connie Mack Stadium. Letter has been folded into sixths and has even moderate aging. Bottom fold line has some moisture staining at left, not affecting signature. Tiny nick at top left. One small piece of archival tape on back at fold line. Fine overall but signature remains bold and displays nicely. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
