Item Description
1-1/8" (28mm) tall. Hand colored litho under glass w/beveled edge. Design features a "Hard Cider" barrel in front of log cabin w/a Liberty Cap atop a large pole w/waving American flag emblazoned "Harrison Tyler." On reverse side of glass a missing flake or manufacturing abrasion seen in reflected light but interferes minimally under normal viewing. Moderate surface wear to glass and missing original pin catch on reverse. Fine. Litho remains extremely clean w/finely detailed coloring. Exc. We've seen this image on both vertical and horizontal rectangular badges but this is the first oval we've encountered in 54 years. All the bells and whistles one could want in an 1840 Harrison brooch.
