Item Description
This Hugo Gernsback edited magazine published by Continental Publications, Inc., was first published in 1929 as Everyday Mechanics. The name was changed to Everyday Science And Mechanics in 1931. The name was later shortened to Science And Mechanics in early 1937 and survived in various forms under different publishers until 1984. Offered here are 23 issues of Everyday Science And Mechanics, published Sept. 1932 to Oct. 1936. Breakdown is as follows - 1932 - Vol. 3, #10 (Sept.). 1933 - Vol. 4, #7 (July); #8 (Aug.); #12 (Dec.). 1934 - Vol. 5, #2 (Feb.); #5 (May); #6 (June); #9 (Oct.); #10-11 (Nov.-Dec.). 1935 - Vol. 6, #1 (April); #2 (June); #3 (Aug.); #4 (Oct.); #5 (Nov.); #6 (Dec.). 1936 - Vol. 7, #1 (Jan.); #2 (Feb.); #3 (March); #4 (April); #5 (May); #7 (Aug.); #8 (Oct.). Contents are mostly practical technology and its uses as well as covering up-and-coming and some theoretical technologies. Covers feature mostly fantastical Sci-Fi machines and equipment, including the filming techniques of Universal Pictures 1933 film The Invisible Man, giant tanks and airships, etc. Issues show scattered edge/corner tip wear w/some pinch creases to spines and scattered page wear. Fine to VF overall.
