Item Description
1.25". St. Louis Button Co. backpaper. Choice image of cardinal bird, baseball, crossed bats and "Pennant." The 1926 St. Louis Cardinals ball club won the National League pennant with a final record of 89-65 under Hall of Fame manager/second baseman Rogers Hornsby. In addition to Hornsby, the offense was led by future National Baseball Hall of Fame selectees: Chick Hafey, Jim Bottomley and Billy Southworth. The mound corps was led by a pair of HOF starters, Jesse Hasines and Grover Cleveland Alexander. The Cardinals would go on to top the New York Yankees, 4 games to 3, to take the 1926 World Series.
