Item Description
12.75x15.25" on lightly embossed card stock w/blank back. Oversized menu for a dinner given to Taft Nov. 16, 1912 featuring an allegorical scene framed at left by an oval portrait of Taft. American shield at lower left provides a full list of Taft's past offices and academic degrees. Signed boldly in black fountain pen ink "Wm. H. Taft" at lower right. Reverse has remnants of old cardboard mount that does not affect front view. Trivial age and minor handling displaying NM. The club is known for producing elaborate souvenir menus for their "State Dinners" and counted among members the likes of Mark Twain, Andrew Carnegie, Margaret Mead, Dwight Eisenhower and Tom Wolfe. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
