Item Description
Errol McCarthy is an artist/illustrator noted for his work on Peterson Publishing titles Hot Rod Cartoons, CARtoons and Cycletoons as well as for his later work on popular toylines like Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe. Offered here are two 14.5x18" artboards w/applied sheets of vellum bearing pen and ink original art (w/airbrushing) for complete two-page "Vandalize" story from 1970s Peterson Publishing title (either Hot Rod Cartoons or CARtoons). Great gag story shows VW bus (w/"Errol McCarthy" signature on side" and various front ends of other vehicles to cut out and use to "customize" van. These include the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile, a World War I French tank, chopper motorcycle, P-40 Flying Tiger fighter plane and various other designs. First artboard has attached stiff paper overlay. Artboards are aged and have some corner tip wear while vellum shows some scattered insect damage along right margins, however art remains clean and Exc. Errol McCarthy Collection.
