Item Description
Errol McCarthy is an artist/illustrator noted for his work on Peterson Publishing titles Hot Rod Cartoons, CARtoons and Cycletoons as well as for his later work on popular toylines like Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe. Offered here are three approx. 14x20" artboards w/applied sheets of vellum bearing pen and ink original art (w/screentone accents) for complete three-page story from 1970s Peterson Publishing title (either Hot Rod Cartoons or CARtoons). Story involves hot rod/snowmobile race up mountain. McCarthy has signed at bottom left of first panel on first artboard. Vellum has aged and shows some scattered staining and insect damage along margins (w/tiny spot of insect damage at bottom right corner of last panel on first artboard, not distracting. Last artboard has some strips of staining at bottom left. Art o/w remains clean and VF. First artboard has attached stiff paper overlay. Errol McCarthy Collection.
