Item Description
7/8" w/union back stamp. Light even fading of red background. Otherwise only a trivial less than 1/8" cello separation at 4 o'clock that occurred in manufacturing. Exc. 30,000 railroad shop employees walked out across the country on Sep. 30, 1911. The strike saw violence in New Orleans, San Francisco and was concentrated largely in Mississippi where Gov. Edmond Noel mobilized the State Guard in response to the unrest.
