Item Description
3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 12 team members in full uniform along with three gentlemen dressed in formal attire and one youngster squatting in front. Caption in bottom left-hand corner reads "Berks League Champions - Leesport - 1924". All ballplayers are identified in small print below the photo. This independent ball club was housed in Reading, PA, taking on all comers from the local area. Image clarity of the photograph is superb. Divided postcard back remains blank and postally unused. The AZO stamp box dates the card to 1910s-1930s, which is consistent with the subject matter presented. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
