3.5"x5-3/8" vintage glossy postcard depicting the Leahy Bowl baseball stadium, identified as the "Home of the Winner Pheasants" along with an inset of MLB catcher, Mickey Owen at left along with his facsimile signature at right. Photographer's credit at lower right-hand corner reads "Rosebudd Photo, Winner, S.D.". Mickey Owen was a Major League All-Star catcher playing from 1937-54, primarily with the St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. While playing with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1942, Mickey enjoyed his finest season, finishing fourth in the NL MVP voting that season. Postcard exhibits lt., even corner wear with divided postcard back which has been postally cancelled with a date of August 10, 1949. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
