Item Description
3.25x5.5" generic postcard has inked name/address from a young Richard Merkin. Blank opposite has been signed in blue ink by Baseball HOF member Enos Slaughter (1916-2002), who played for 19 seasons on four MLB teams from 1938-1942 and 1946-1959. Noted primarily for his career w/the St. Louis Cardinals, Slaughter is perhaps best known for scoring the winning run in Game 7 of the 1946 World Series. A ten-time All-Star, he was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1985. Slaughter has added "Best Wishes" inscription above his name. Postcard has June 8, 1951 Boston, MA postmark. Card has lt., even aging and corner tip wear. Slight line impression between inscription and signature. Fine/VF overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
