One of two known to Hake's. 1.75". Missing Brunt Printing back paper. Great design w/portrait photo at center flanked by American and Italian flags. For event held Aug. 27th. Bodie was a pioneering Italian-American ballplayer. He played MLB 1911-21 for the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Athletics and New York Yankees. He also spent time in the Pacific Coast League. One of the most feared sluggers in the 1910s, Bodie was nicknamed "Ping" for the sound made when his fifty-two-ounce bat crashed into the "dead" ball of his era. He took the surname Bodie from the California town he once lived in. During his days with the Yankees he was roommates with Babe Ruth. Oxidation on metal back. Tiny trace of age spotting on rim curl. Front remains totally bright and glossy w/strong color. Cello remains VF. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
