1.25" pinned to 2x5" ribbon. No maker. Button text includes "Boost" and day of the event, July 23rd. Ribbon text is "Somerville Welcomes Pie Traynor." He received his nickname as a child in Somerville, Massachusetts, because he frequented a grocery store and often asked for pie. The store owner called him "Pie Face", which was later shortened to Pie by his friends. He spent his entire MLB career with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a player and manager, 1920-1939. A two-time All-Star and World Series champion in 1925. He was inducted in the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1948. Lt. wear to ribbon, VF while button is glossy, Exc. Rare single day issue.
