Item Description
Original 10.25x11-1/8x3" deep Styrofoam tray w/illustrated cardboard lid and separate die-cut cardboard window cover for Styrofoam tray contains complete parts for 10" tall figure of Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga character Mighty Atom (Astro Boy's name in Japan). Figure comes w/separate robotic components (meant to depict Mighty Atom's internal workings) that could be combined a variety of ways or could be installed within plastic body as illustrated on lid and included illustrated instruction folder. Also comes w/unused decal sheet and registration card. These and instruction folder have been folded as issued within slot in Styrofoam tray. Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Takara as part of their Tetsuwan Atom line, 1970s. Box has some lt. scattered wear and is VF/Exc. Figure is unused and NM, old store stock. Wonderfully designed set.
