Item Description
2-1/16x3-1/8". Bowman produced a 252 card set in 1952 utilizing the same size cards as the previous year. The cards are color art productions of actual photographs and feature a facsimile autograph on front. Although the set boasts several Hall of Famers from the 1940s and 1950s, collectors hold the Mickey Mantle card in higher esteem than any other. Following the iconic Mantle rookie card issued by Bowman in 1951 and produced the same season as Mickey's treasured 1952 Topps High-Number card, this 1952 Bowman marks a second year issue of "The Mick" which appeals to collectors who might not be able to afford a nice example of either the '51 Bowman or '52 Topps. Mantle was a 3-time AL MVP, 20-time AL All-Star, 7-time World Champion, Triple Crown Winner in 1956 and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.
