Item Description
A real-life aviator hero and successful entrepreneur, Col. Roscoe Turner was idolized in the 1930s. He was a stunt performer, WWI pilot, multi-speed record holder and more. Turner's popularity was used to promote premiums by several companies as evidenced in this lot. During 1939-40 he hosted the Sky Blazers radio program that dramatized the history of aviation. 12 items in this lot issued between 1934-40. Four are Heinz: 4.5x7" certificate w/mailing envelope, membership card promo folder for premiums. The other items are issued by Wonder Bread: two-piece paper plane, two mailing envelopes (one w/cardboard packing insert), membership card, promo postcard to for ordering premiums (some staining), 2" metal wings pin, 2.75" metal badge, and a rare 11x14" die-cut paper window sign (front adhesive unused but there are some small tape strips on margin and some staining, mostly on the blank reverse). Scattered wear/age all over. Items mostly VG to VF. An instant collection. Most items are the actual examples shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
