Item Description
23x29" frame contains double-matted oil on board original art depicting scantily-clad cyborg woman (who sports large metal mace in place of one hand, a broken chain dangling from it), who has just smashed through metal dome. Art is by Peruvian artist Boris Vallejo, best known for his hyper-representational paintings, which have appeared on the covers of numerous sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks and are featured in a series of best-selling calendars. Subjects of his paintings are typically sword and sorcery gods, monsters, and well-muscled male and female barbarians engaged in battle. This piece was featured as the cover to April 1984 issue of Heavy Metal magazine. Vallejo has signed and dated at bottom. Exc. and ready for display as framed under Plexiglas. Great example of one of Vallejo's many Heavy Metal covers. Comes w/trading card featuring same art and the issue of Heavy Metal this cover art was created for.
