Item Description
From same set as lot #876. The key button in this set. W&H back paper (with some staining). Cobb was the unquestioned top hitter in baseball at this time, winning batting titles year after year and finishing with the all-time record for career batting average at .366. Ty would become part of the inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame class of 1936. Has some faint/lt. moisture staining to rim and top surface including a spot on his mouth. However, color remains rich and button retains high gloss. Fine. A desirable Cobb item. In our Feb. 2021 auction an Exc. example sold for $7,413. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
