Item Description
Complete set of 12, each 1.25". All but one has Whitehead & Hoag back papers with patent date of 1896 but these were actually issued between 1900-1912. Players were issued in both blue and red jerseys, all in this set are red. Buttons were also issued w/a variety of sponsor imprints and all in this set are for the same bakery. Set consists of nine position players, batsman, captain and umpire. All have some degree of darkening/age toning of the gold bkgs. Scattered lt. surface wear upon magnification/in reflected light but a clean and glossy set overall. Mostly Exc. Rare as a full set. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
