Item Description
6.25x8" trimmed sheet of unlined paper has handwritten note to comic fan "Reggie" (same fan as recipient of Carmine Infantino letter w/sketches;lot #1112) from Paul Reinman (1910-1988), an American comic book artist best known as one of Jack Kirby's frequent inkers during the Silver Age. Letter is dated Sept. 19, 1960 and mentions letter from Reggie and enclosed "Autographed Picture," which in reality is 7-7/8x11-1/8" artboard bearing pen and ink self portrait that has been neatly watercolored by the artist. Reinman has signed both letter and art, dating both. Letter is evenly aged and top of letter has glue staining as once mounted. Fine. Art also has some glue staining across top margin, not affecting art or inscription, which could be easily matted for Exc. display.
