Item Description
These famous cereal give-away buttons were created by the master creator of premiums for kids, designer Sam Gold. Millions of these 13/16" litho buttons went into post-war cereal boxes issued as five sub-sets of 18 (each sub-set including Superman) over a two year period 1945-1946 so that in the end 86 different buttons comprised a set. Some characters of note include - Blondie and Dagwood, Dick Tracy, Felix the Cat, Flash Gordon, Jiggs, Olive Oyl, Popeye, Little Orphan Annie, Superman, The Phantom, Warbucks and Wimpy. Condition breaksdown as VG two buttons, Fine/VF 22 buttons and Exc. to NM 62 buttons. A very nice set as is, or with 62 of 86 in Exc. to NM, a great base to take the set to a high level.
