Item Description
11-1/8x14-1/8" artboard w/attached vellum overlay has pasted production artwork for ad promoting 1952 Kellogg's Pep premium comic character button set. 17 individual button image stats have been cut out and pasted in place (one has since come loose, leaving glue stain), some include - Little Orphan Annie, Sandy, Dick Tracy and Smilin' Jack. "Comic Buttons" text has been hand-lettered, all else is production stats, including sign image and order form portion. Scattered aging and glue staining. Overlay has hand-colored areas for boy wearing beanie decorated w/buttons as well as image of beanie that could also be ordered. Additional ink/pencil notations appears all over overlay, which has some aging. Fine overall. Comes w/unused 9x19.75" glossy paper sign pictured on the ad mock-up above. Sign does not have any Kellogg's identification but pictures 18 of the 86 buttons in the Kellogg's Pep set. ©1952 Premium Specialties. Blank area at lower right marks this as a file copy. Exc./NM.
