Item Description
1.25" with Bastian Bros. paper first used in 1907. Luna Park, Coney Island's second major park, opened in 1903. The Virginia Reel, characterized by circular spinning tubs that zigzagged down a track, exactly as shown on this button, was designed by Henry Elmer Riehl, who named the ride after his daughter, Luna Virginia Riehl. The ride opened in 1908 at Luna Park where Riehl was superintendent. One of only five examples we've been able to offer in our 55 years. NM.
