Item Description
11.75x15-7/8" artboard w/attached worn overlay has mixed media original art by comic artist J.L. Blume, known for his cover work on Spanish comic books starring The Phantom. Cover is for the Spanish edition of "El Hombre Enmascarado" #29, which was published in Spain by Valenciana as part of their Colosos Del Comic line in 1981. Artboard has image area measuring 10-5/8x14.5" showing art for "The Golden Models" cover story, w/The Phantom being attacked by trio of costumed women within profile of The Phantom. Signed by Blume at lower right. Overlay has publication information written along bottom margin. Artboard exhibits corner tip/edge wear and has some wear to white painted border. This slightly affects art at bottom center. Top portion of art has some small spots of aging. Art could easily be matted and framed for a VF display. Unique. Cover and contents were exclusive to the Spanish market and saw no US counterpart. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this cover art was created for.
