Item Description
10-7/8x17" artboard features pen and ink comic cover original art for Incredible Hulk #283, published by Marvel May 1983. Art is by Ed Hannigan w/inks by Al Milgrom. Cover features action-packed image of the Hulk leading Avengers charge, other Avengers shown include - Wasp, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau) and She-Hulk. Title stat and blank Marvel/UPC block stat applied in appropriate places. Penciled title, issue number and publication month at bottom margin w/additional editorial notations as well as the artists' names. Back of artboard has Marvel copyright inkstamp, inked "OK" note and penciled artist names at top. Back has some strips of stickiness as once mounted. Art and stats have been neatly hand-colored w/watercolors post production (and do not match final published version), possibly used as a try-out for a new colorist. Two spots of moisture at bottom center slightly affect coloring. Artboard has staple holes along top margin, pin holes at bottom center and shows scattered aging/wear. Fine overall but art would make nice framed display.
