Item Description
11.5x17.5" pressbook for 1939 12 chapter Sci-Fi movie serial, produced by Universal Pictures and featuring Buster Crabbe in the title role, co-starring Constance Moore, Jackie Moran and Anthony Warde. Cover features large image of Crabbe alongside Constance Moore as Wilma Deering and Jackie Moran as Buddy Wade (a character created for the serial). Cover also features additional images of the cast, including Crabbe in spacesuit at bottom center. Title displayed diagonally across center, within spaceship outline. This design was also used for the stock poster for this serial (see item #0000). Pressbook features typical promotional material, including photos, press and "Showmanship" section w/ideas for theaters that include - newspaper/comic strip promotion, costumes, rocket ship lobby displays and "Buck Rogers Strange World Adventures Club." Pressbook also shows ad mats and Daisy toy gun advertisement. Back cover shows posters for the serial, including a six-sheet, three-sheet and the one-sheets (see items #0000-0000). Folded horizontally at center as issued, cover is split along spine and detached w/.5" piece out of spine of back cover. VG overall. Rare. Comes w/22-7/8x35" single-sided supplement showing the various ad mats available to advertisers. Folded as issued w/some splits at fold crease intersections. Fine. Gene Seger Buck Rogers Collection.
