Item Description
Each album is 7x9.5" published by Valenciana. Each front cover has same boxing match illustration but are numbered 1-3. Each opens to reveal complete set of 18 thin paper cards mounted at appropriate spots. 54 different cards in total across the three albums and numbered 1-54. Each has portrait illustration w/brief text including name, weight class and title held, if applicable. Card #16 designates Joe Louis as "World Heavyweight Champion." Card #17 lists Billy Conn as heavyweight contender. Conn first fought Louis in June of 1941, so this set just pre-dates that bout. Other boxers of note include: Max Baer, Primo Carnera, Max Schmeling, Kid Chocolate and more. Scattered lt. wear and aging but all remains EX overall. Rare set.
