Item Description
1.75" w/W&H back paper used between 1896-1900. Two short hairline scratches in field only seen in reflected light. Exc. Only the third example we've seen in 55 years. Mott, a women's rights activist and abolitionist Quaker, was a mentor to Elizabeth Cady Stanton and organizer of the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY in 1848. She died in 1880 but the American Suffragists continued to utilize her image on badges as an homage to her pioneering work.
