Item Description
11.5x13.5" trimmed artboard w/pen and ink original art by Sad Sack creator George Baker (1915-1975) for Sad Sack #148, published by Harvey in Dec. 1963. Cover shows Sarge stabbing Sad Sack's nose, as it lies among a tray of hot dogs he's carrying from the mess hall. Muttsy reacts w/alarm. Baker has signed at lower right. Margins have some handwritten editorial notations in lead/blue pencil, including title abbreviation, issue number and publication month, although it notes this art was originally to be featured as cover to Sad Sack #141 (May 1963), which was ultimately changed. Artboard shows some scattered handling wear/aging. VF overall w/art remaining clean and Exc.
