Item Description
11.5x14.5" trimmed artboard w/pen and ink original art by Sad Sack creator George Baker (1915-1975) for Sad Sack #141, published by Harvey in May 1963. Cover shows Sad Sack playing w/paddle-ball, the ball flying into Sarge's mouth as he enters room. Muttsy appears at Sad Sack's feet. Baker has signed at lower right. Margins have some handwritten editorial notations in pencil, including title abbreviation, issue number and publication month along w/"Replacement" notation. This refers to original plan for this art to be featured as cover to Sad Sack #142 (June 1963), which is crossed out at top left. Artboard shows some scattered handling wear/aging. Fine/VF overall w/art remaining clean and Exc.
