Item Description
11.75x15-5/8" sheet of art paper has pen and ink original art for Jan. 14, 2000 Tarzan Sunday page by Gray Morrow (1934-2001), a prolific comic artist who provided work for many publishers over his lengthy career. Morrow worked on the Tarzan Sunday page from 1983 until 2001. Sunday page features seven panels, showing Jane and Tarzan discussing the growth of bizarre Martian creatures from the "Fabled Martian Tree Of Life" which has apparently been transported to the jungle as microscopic bacteria from Tarzan's recent adventures in Antarctica. Tarzan and Jane appear in all but one panel. First panel has large title stat paste-over and bottom edge of art has number of pasted copyright/distribution paste-over strips. Bottom right has paste-over w/Morrow's signature and the name of writer Allan Gross. Marker used to outline panels and dialogue balloons (as well as one Martian creature's hair) has aged to orangish-brown in color. Paper has some rippling but art remains clean and VF overall. Comes w/hand water-colored color guide overlay w/strip of adhesive staining across top of art paper, not affecting art. Bill Kamper Tarzan Collection.
