Item Description
13x19" artboard features pen and ink original art for splash page from Katy Keene Pin-Up Parade #7, published by Archie Comics Spring-July 1959. Art is by Bill Woggon (1911-2003), creator of Katy Keene. Artboard features two splash panels, showing Katy atop ornately designed Indian elephant. Second panel shows her beside "Handsome Explorer, Errol Swoon" w/fancy hunting-theme automobile and additional elephants behind them. Katy appears in both panels. As for Katy's outfit, the elephant's decorations and Errol's car, readers were encouraged to submit original drawings of outfits/accessories/vehicles, w/chosen designs given credit between panels as seen in this page. Top margin has inked "K.K Pin Up" title abbreviation w/issue/pages numbers. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Faint moisture rippling at lower left by elephants image, but only faintest trace of moisture stain at this area. Art is o/w clean and Exc.
