Item Description
Each is 1-3/8" litho produced by hometown Chicago maker Green Duck Metal and distributed by Chicago Evening American newspaper to promote its peach-colored sports section. Set breaks down as six buttons for each Chicago team w/one dark blue rim button and five white rims per team. Starting with the Cubs, players are: Grover Alexander (HOF), Ray Grimes, Charlie Hollocher, Bill Killefer, Arnold "Jigger" Statz and Bob O' Farrell. The Sox group consists of: Ray Schalk (HOF), Eddie Collins (HOF), Urban "Red" Faber (HOF), Harry Hooper (HOF), Willie Kamm and Charlie Robertson. Being lithos, all have some typical paint wear. The only other damage is a .25" dia. shallow dent left of Collins and Kamm has dents creating wavy surface with two small scuffs upper left. These are Fine and VG respectively and the other eight are VF. Rare individually let alone to find as a complete set. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
