Item Description
"Tailspin Tommy" was an air adventure comic strip originally illustrated by Hal Forrest. Initially distributed by Bell Syndicate and then by United Feature Syndicate, the strip ran from May 21, 1928 to March 15, 1942. Offered here are lot of five items, all from the 1930s. Cello buttons are 1" to 1.25" dia. and metal wings badges are 1" to 2" long. One button is for 1935 Universal serial "The Great Air Mystery." Oxidation on metal back but front is glossy. Other two are newspaper sponsored - "The Evening Sun, Newark Star-Eagle" (w/backpaper). Wings are both likely newspaper-sponsored as well. Both have "Tailspin Tommy" name and smaller also reads "Flying Club." An instant collection w/some scarce pieces.
