Item Description
12-3/8x12.5" illustrated album cover features large record image and cover to Avengers #4 (first Silver Age appearance of Captain America) comic book. From series of four records (all being offered in this auction) issued w/comic book reprints. A.A. Records, Inc. ©1966 Marvel Comics Group. Records were issued to help promote literacy and record features a word-for-word reading of the comic book, complete w/sound effects and page instructions. This is SLP 187. Comic is a reprint (w/o price on cover) of Avengers #4. Original small store price sticker at top left. On front at top left there is a 1x3" piece of shrink wrap missing. Front top center area has four other .5" shrink wrap tears. .5" and 1.5" shrink wrap splits to seam along the right edge. One tiny shrink wrap tear on back at corner of comic. All noted for complete accuracy but shrink wrap remains tightly factory-sealed. Comic remains secured tightly in place as sealed (albeit upside down), w/lt. age toning to white cover. Both LP and comic are NM. These sets are becoming more and more popular/sought after, w/high grade, sealed copies such as this rarely coming up for sale. First sealed copy of this title we have offered in our 55 years.
