Item Description
8.2511.75" sheet of unlined paper bears three different black felt tip pen sketches for different potential logo designs for the 1980 Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back. McQuarrie (1929-2012), was a conceptual designer and illustrator perhaps best known for work on the original Star Wars trilogy, where he designed many of the film's characters, including Darth Vader, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO as well as drawing many concepts for the film's sets. The three designs (as well as the beginning of a fourth) vary greatly from the final logo and offer great insight into what might have been. Two small spots of orange staining in/around art and sheet has horizontal fold line across bottom (not affecting art). Sheet is Fine/VF overall. Comes w/handwritten note from noted Star Collector and authority Gus Lopez. Ex-Gus Lopez Collection.
