Item Description
Bill Ward (1919-1998) assisted many comic book artists in the 1940s and 1950s, and is noted for his well-endowed cartoons that appeared in various pin-up magazines. Offered here is 7-3/8x10.75" Craftint illustration board w/pen and ink original art for 1960s men's magazine. Art depicts man in uniform sitting beside his busty date's chaperone - her mother - w/hand-lettered "'Say - When In the Heck Am I Going To Solo?'" pencil caption at bottom. Ward has signed at lower left. Faint editorial notes across top margin w/inked number at bottom right corner. Back has 1965 red pencil date as well as later "Popular Cartoons" and "Humorama, Inc." inkstamps and scattered notations. Art has evenly aged but is o/w Exc.
