Item Description
Immense and impressive 38x62" by 3" deep custom black finished maple frame houses acrylic on canvas original art by artist Nicole Petrillo, who has been a painter and muralist for over 20 years since receiving her degree and is now creating individual paintings which recreate comic books covers as well as paintings that capture the beautiful artwork and packaging of the classic toys from years gone by. Petrillo's art faithfully recreates and pays homage to Kenner's store display for their Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back toyline (offered in this very auction, see lot #1889), which features an impressive battle diorama display, the initial photography for this display featuring at least eight different toys of widely varying scales - AT-ST, Micro Collection AT-ST (from the Hoth Generator Attack), AT-AT, Snowspeeder, Micro Collection Snowspeeder, Battle Damaged X-Wing, Micro Collection X-Wing and Rebel Transport. The snowy landscape of Hoth was originally created w/several boxes of laundry detergent. Petrillo has recreated this iconic display piece, presenting a powerful statement piece and makes for a one-of-a-kind work of art. NM and ready for display.
