Item Description
3.5" tall by 12" long by 2.5" wide tin litho friction helicopter toy w/translucent plastic canopy at front and rubber tires. Made in Japan. c. 1970s. Sides of helicopter feature Japanese text w/image of Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga character Mighty Atom, better known in the US as Astro Boy. Astro Boy figural head in cockpit. Toy shows lt. aging/wear, small paint nicks, scratches. Wind-up mechanism in place but only moves if turned manually. Displays nicely, VG overall and a rare piece.
