Item Description
See previous lot for info on this card series, which we believe to have never been put into production. Card is 1.5x2.5" w/tissue paper cover (©1951 Premium Specialties, Chicago) attached at top to card stock card underneath. This is card #1. Tissue sheet includes image of crossed bats, glove and ball plus "Clues" text of "Can You Name This Great First Baseman? He Played In 2,130 Consecutive Ball Games, Still A Record." Tissue sheet was to be removed, moistened and rubbed on the card to expose the image. All remains intact and unused and the Gehrig image on the card is strong and distinct as is, even without being "Developed." Lt. aging, trace of glue staining on card back possibly as once mounted for presentation to potential company to accept the proposal from Gold. EX. Something very different for the baseball card collector and Lou Gehrig completist.
