Item Description
10.5x16" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for page 18 of September, 1975 issue of Marvel Comics' "Creatures On The Loose" featuring Man-Wolf. Page features 13 panels, showing Man-Wolf fighting in space station and being locked in x-ray chamber. Art was for "Moonbound" storyline written by David Kraft w/art by legendary Marvel and DC artist George Perez (1954-2022) w/inks by Fred Kida. This is early Perez art as he made his professional debut in Marvel Comics' "Astonishing Tales" #25 (Aug., 1974) as penciler of an untitled two-page satire of the character Deathlok, star of that comic's main feature. He soon became a Marvel regular, rising to prominence w/"The Avengers" (starting w/issue #141). In the 1970s, Perez illustrated several other Marvel titles, including "Creatures On The Loose, The Inhumans" and "Fantastic Four." Stamped title at top along w/handwritten issue/page numbers. Artboard has some lt. handling wear w/strips of aged tape on all sides. Knockout type in three space panels are stats over hand lettered text. Back of page has Marvel stamp. Signed at bottom in pen by Perez. Remains VF. Charles Lippincott Collection.
